Hi there, my name’s Elena. My daughter, Jasmina, started kindergarten this year, and her big sister, Amanda, is in 4th grade, and very smart. My girls are amazing, and wonderful and helpful, and difficult… They’re everything. During COVID I started a support group for women like me - Latina moms with HIV, which has been amazing. I’m still living with my ex, Luis, which is complicated, and probably not healthy, but he’s been running our family bodega, and we’re making things as okay as we can. I’ve started working for a clothing designer whose name I’m not allowed to tell, but you’ve heard of him, and he’s difficult, but I really love the job.
